Westwood Recruitment Supports Live Great Adventures in Their Everest Base Camp Mission
Westwood Recruitment believes in making areal impact—not just in the world of recruitment, but in their community and beyond. That’s why we are incredibly proud to support Liam and Jo Gray, the founders of Live Great Adventures, in their mission to raise awareness around mental health and suicide prevention.
Liam Gray, a suicide survivor, has dedicated his life to helping others find hope and healing. Through their charity, LiveGreat Adventures, Liam and Jo provide vital support for those struggling with mental health, ensuring that no one has to face their battles alone. Their latest campaign, “17 Hugs for 17 Lives”, is a powerful initiative that highlights the devastating reality of suicide in the UK—where 17 lives are lost every day.
To raise awareness, Liam is embarking on a17-day trek to Everest Base Camp, where he will hug 17 people each day while opening up conversations about mental health. This incredible journey symbolises the strength of human connection and the importance of breaking the silence surrounding mental health struggles.

Westwood Recruitment’s Contribution
Understanding the profound impact of this mission, Westwood Recruitment stepped in to help Liam and Jo achieve their fundraising goal. We proudly donated £10,000, ensuring that this life-changing campaign could go ahead. But we didn’t stop there. We also had the privilege of hosting a special event at our co-working space, where Liam and Jo shared their deeply personal story with our community. The event was not only a fundraiser but a powerful evening of reflection, learning, and support.
Hearing Liam’s journey—his struggles, survival, and newfound purpose—was truly moving. It reminded us of the importance of looking out for one another and having open conversations about mental health. The event helped raise additional funds for the campaign, bringing us one step closer to making a tangible difference in people’s lives.
The Importance of Mental Health Awareness
Westwood Recruitment are committed to fostering a supportive and compassionate workplace culture. Mental health awareness is not just an individual responsibility—it’s a collective one. Supporting initiatives like Live Great Adventures is part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring people receive the help and encouragement they need, whether in the workplace or in their personal lives.
