Westwood Recruitment released its 2024 Social Value Impact Report

At Westwood Recruitment, driving positive social change is the main goal in all of our operations – from our work with clients to our hiring practices, we are committed to delivering employment and training opportunities through honest and ethical recruitment practices. Social Value is the positive impact that organisations contribute to society beyond an operating profit and in addition to core requirements or business as usual standards.

Westwood Recruitment has delivered an incredible £1.88 million in Social and Local Economic Value (SLEV) in 2024.

Our Social Value Impact Report is measured through the National TOMs Framework, the leading standard for capturing and reporting positive impact. Everything we do at Westwood Recruitment is committed to our Social Value Strategy, which is built on four key pillars, underpinned by the TOMs:

  • Apprenticeship and Learning
  • Providing Employment Opportunities
  • Driving Inclusive growth and supporting local businesses
  • Empowering communities and enhancing wellbeing
  • Protecting the environment through sustainable practices
  • Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Volunteering and Community
  • Overall Wellbeing

A Statement from Our Director, Chris Couser:

At Westwood Recruitment, we know that our success isn’t just about what we achieve, but about the difference we make. This Social Impact Report shows the ‘impact of the impact’—how our efforts create real change, open up opportunities, and bring lasting value to the communities we support.

Working in Partnerships

Westwood Recruitment becomes part of the member of Build Salford in January 2024: a consortium of construction employers, social housing providers, and key support agencies which offers a unique traineeship programme for Salford Young People. As a recruitment agency specialising in construction and engineering, Westwood Recruitment is excited to support this initiative by connecting young people with employers, identifying opportunities for career growth, and ensuring that social value remains at the heart of recruitment. By collaborating with organisations that share our vision, we are working towards a future where businesses thrive, communities grow, and young people have the opportunities they deserve.

Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN); Westwood’s Charity Partner, dedicated to creating opportunities for young individuals to grow and thrive aligns perfectly with our mission. Our initial partnership started with them by assisting in employability workshops, and from then became headline supporters of the Westwood Cup—an inspiring 5-a-side football tournament designed to engage and motivate young people. This commitment means that young people will have consistent access to valuable employability opportunities, helping them build a future filled with possibilities.

Westwood Recruitment began its initial partnership with Live Great Adventures (LGA) in 2022. Westwood has been supporting the organisation through fundraising, offering business advice as well as offering Perks of the Jobs benefits to the community members of LGA. Westwood believes that we have more to offer our partners beyond fundraising, we also offer opportunities to make a positive impact whilst being part of their success stories. Their work in mental health, support networks, and outdoor therapy aligns with Westwood’s Social Value initiatives, sharing a vision to promote mental health awareness while continuously improving mental and physical well-being, overall health, and social impact.

Westwood are keen to go further with their impact reach in 2025 and will be continuing their partnerships with all organisations moving forward.
